Our Love Story: Hard to Guard Against the Sudden Love Strike

Chapter 619 - 590: Before Birth

Chapter 619 - 590: Before Birth

The hospital director spent about an hour explaining the entire C-section process and the preparations before and after to Simon Forrester and his wife, and finally said that he would be participating in Sienna Thornton’s surgery.Sienna Thornton felt more reassured upon hearing this.

This hospital director is a leading figure in the domestic field of general surgery, having done pioneering work in the areas of hepatobiliary and gastrointestinal surgery. With such an expert participating in her C-section surgery, the outcome is even more guaranteed.

After the director left, only the couple remained temporarily in the ward.

Sienna Thornton then remarked to Simon Forrester, "Meeting you, I learned the benefits of money; recognizing my father, I understood the advantages of power and social connections."

"Then you’re the big winner," Simon Forrester laughed, "you have money, power, and connections."

"I’m not the big winner." Sienna Thornton sat up on the hospital bed with her belly.

Simon Forrester poured a cup of water, moved over to sit on the companion chair by her bed, and handed her the water: "Then what are you?"

She put her hands on her hips: "I’m your little princess!" After saying that, she took the cup and drank a sip.

Simon Forrester burst into laughter: "Yes, yes, you’ll always be my little princess."

"And our daughter?"

"Our daughter is the cotton-padded jacket worn by the princess."

Sienna Thornton was the one who laughed this time.

After a while, a nurse came over to take Sienna Thornton’s blood pressure, put on a fetal heart monitor for the baby, and would come in once every hour to record the readings.

Just as the nurse went out, Sylvia Langley arrived, bringing a nutritious lunch she had prepared herself.

Simon Forrester was surprised, having never thought his mom could cook.

After a while, Melinda Linton and Auntie King also came over, similarly bringing lunch.

Sylvia Langley warmly invited them to sit, placing the lunch brought by Sienna Thornton’s family on the table together so everyone could eat.

After lunch, Old Master Forrester also came, sat for a while, showed concern for Sienna Thornton’s condition, and then wanted to return. When he left, he intended to take Sylvia Langley with him, but Sylvia said she would stay to take care of her daughter-in-law, so Old Master Forrester left on his own.

Melinda Linton and Auntie King brought along the baby’s cotton gauze monk clothes, little hat, and cotton gauze swaddle and talked with Sienna Thornton in the ward while Sylvia Langley and her son talked outside.

Later, Sienna Thornton fell asleep, and when she woke up in the evening, the previously bustling ward was once again just Simon Forrester.

She propped herself up to rise, and Simon Forrester, who was using a computer on the companion bed, heard the sound, quickly came over to help her sit up.

"Where are your mom and my mom?" she asked.

Simon Forrester said, "I sent them home; they’ll come back for surgery tomorrow. No need for so many people here, I can handle it myself."

Sienna Thornton nodded; she didn’t actually like too many people around either, as she’d have to consider their feelings, being alone with Simon Forrester was the most relaxing.

"Ian came over this afternoon; you were asleep at the time, so I didn’t wake you up." Simon Forrester said, "He’s already coordinated with Joyce Sutton’s side."

"I really owe him; make sure to treat him to dinner."

Simon Forrester chuckled, "He’s one of us, no need for formalities."

The two chatted for a while, and Joyce Sutton came over: "Mrs. Forrester, how do you feel?"

"I feel everything’s normal, pretty good."

Joyce Sutton nodded: "I’ll be on duty tonight, if there’s anything uncomfortable or unclear, press the bedside bell and I’ll come over quickly."

"Alright."

Joyce Sutton listened to the fetal heart and checked the pelvis condition for Sienna Thornton, then advised her not to eat or drink after 10 PM, before leaving the ward.

Sienna Thornton and Simon Forrester went downstairs to have dinner at the underground dining area.

Since the next meal would be after the surgery, Sienna Thornton subconsciously ate a bit more, but it was just congee with greens, quite bland.

After dinner, the two went back upstairs and found Quentin Thorne, who had just left work, sitting in the living room of the ward waiting for them. Seeing his daughter was fine, he left reassured, but he went to the director’s office before heading home...

...

By seven o’clock in the evening, the inpatient department was very quiet, and Simon Forrester and Sienna Thornton showered early to prepare for rest.

The hospital bed was a single one; worried Sienna Thornton wouldn’t sleep comfortably, Simon Forrester didn’t squeeze in but moved the companion bed over next to hers and lay lower.

The main light in the ward was turned off, leaving only the small bedside lamp on, and outside the room, the occasional sound of medical staff and medical carts passing by could be heard.

The two had never rested so early, so they lay there chatting. Just as they were lying face to face, Simon Forrester was still holding his wife’s hand.

"This is my third hospitalization," Sienna Thornton decided to test him, "do you remember the last time I was hospitalized?"

Simon Forrester laughed, "On November 9, 2018, you were hospitalized, I stayed with you all night at the hospital; on November 10, we went to Norport, first kiss and first time sharing a bed."

"Ah!" Sienna Thornton felt shy, first covering her face, then tossing a tissue at him. The tissue landed lightly on Simon Forrester, who took it, crumpled it into a ball.

"I only asked when I last was hospitalized, why did you say so much?"

Simon Forrester’s eyes were filled with smiles, "Because I remember it deeply."

Sienna Thornton turned over, muttering, "Already a father, still talking without restraint, what will our daughter think of you in the future."

"Parents who truly love each other are the most precious asset for a daughter’s life." Saying this, he got up, went around to the other side of the bed, embraced Sienna Thornton, and lowered his head to kiss her.

"Tomorrow you’ll have a new identity—Mom, allow me to kiss my girl one last time tonight."

...

On August 12, 2023, during the hot summer in Brimfield, the weather was sunny, the sun was bright, and the sky was very blue.

Early in the morning, Joyce Sutton and the director came to check the ward, asked about Sienna Thornton’s physical condition, checked her blood pressure and fetal heart rate, and after finding no abnormalities, they went to the operating room to prepare. Then, the experienced head nurse personally came to prep Sienna Thornton, inserting a catheter.

After these preparations were done, Sienna Thornton could only lie there, waiting to be sent to the operating room at ten.

Simon Forrester walked to the bed and asked her: "Does the catheter feel uncomfortable?"

She furrowed her eyebrows: "Quite awkward."

Simon Forrester kissed her forehead: "Hang in there, it’ll be removed by tomorrow morning."

"Hmm."

Suddenly there were loud noises outside the room.

Simon Forrester patted his wife’s hand: "Probably grandpa and the others are here, I’ll go check."

He went to open the door, and Old Master Forrester, Sylvia Langley, Quentin Thorne, and Melinda Linton had come, sitting in the living room outside and chatting.

Old Master Forrester didn’t look too well.

Seeing his grandson come out, he frowned and asked, "Jules, do you know the baby’s gender?"

Simon Forrester knew immediately it was probably Quentin Thorne who brought it up, so he didn’t hide: "It’s a daughter."

Upon hearing this, Old Master Forrester almost fainted.
