Chapter 1349: Imposing Killing Power
Chapter 1349: Imposing Killing Power
Peng Bird needed to arrange everything meticulously before he could be at ease. The crisis they faced this time was extraordinary, warranting exceptional caution.Beyond their own power, they had to seek external aid, which was the safest approach.
He was well aware that any mistake in such dire circumstances could lead to utter catastrophe, hence he dared not afford the slightest oversight.
Peng Bird dialed a phone number and chuckled: "Leader Left, I regret having to trouble you at this moment."
Leader Left was the head honcho of the Underworld in D Country, wielding enormous power and connections across various sectors.
Appealing to Leader Left for help was a decision Peng Bird made after careful consideration; if not for his ties with Leader Left, Peng Bird wouldn’t have reached out to him for assistance as Leader Left’s influence surpassed his own.
"Peng Bird, you’ve played this pretty ruthlessly, ignoring both the Poison Dragon Mercenary Corps and General Hawan. It surprises me, brother. I can’t even fathom your deep resources and courage, reaching such a level," Leader Left chuckled. "Even those I would steer clear of, you’ve managed to provoke. I’m quite envious."
Leader Left’s words were filled with astonishment and curiosity, unable to comprehend how Peng Bird had become so formidable.
He continued: "It seems, brother, your skills have surpassed mine, which is both surprising and delightful."
To understand the depth and capabilities of Peng Bird’s group, Leader Left could only probe further.
"Leader Left, I have my grievances; even if I had countless mouths, I couldn’t explain it clearly. I beseech Leader Left to allow me to explain," Peng Bird said bitterly. "Leader Left knows my modest abilities and understands my desire to retire gracefully. Even if I were given the bravest of spirits, I wouldn’t dare simultaneously provoke the Poison Dragon Mercenary Corps and General Hawan."
"That’s reasonable, but who knows what’s truly going on," Leader Left mused to himself before inquiring: "So there’s an inside story? You sound gravely aggrieved. What’s the real issue?"
"Here’s the story; out of nowhere, a group appeared, only seven in total. Under the banner of Peng Bird, they undertook the mission to assassinate the five chiefs of the Poison Dragon Mercenary Corps, first targeting Black Shark. Later, General Hawan got involved. The reckless bunch audaciously kidnapped General Hawan, which led to Black Shark’s death," Peng Bird explained, frustrated. "Now, the entire Underworld knows I accepted this mission. I’m wronged beyond belief. I have no idea who these people truly are or why they let us bear this blame. We are quite troubled, especially since powers around D Country are eyeing us. I can’t even argue our innocence."
"So there’s such an inside story, truly interesting, very interesting," Leader Left recognized that Peng Bird’s group couldn’t deceive him, so he believed Peng Bird’s words. He wryly said: "It seems someone impersonated you, attacking the Poison Dragon Mercenary Corps, leading to this situation."
"Leader Left, we have connections. Surely, you know our character," Peng Bird asserted earnestly. "I’m calling you for help, hoping you can lend us a hand at this crucial time."
"We’re all in this together, so I’ll definitely assist you, brother. Rest assured," Leader Left promised. "Whether facing the Poison Dragon Mercenary Corps or General Hawan, I will be vigilant. Should anyone act against you, I’ll know immediately and inform you. You should also prepare your defenses. I’ll dispatch people to support you."
"Thank you, Leader Left. With your support, my comrades and I have hope. We are deeply grateful for this bond," Peng Bird vowed fervently.
"No worries, all can be discussed. You call me Leader Left, so naturally, I cannot stand idly by when you’re in trouble," Leader Left expressed his loyalty.
...
With Black Shark dead, the impact was greatest upon the Poison Dragon Mercenary Corps’ base.
The chief Hawk, third chief Sea Horse, and fourth chief Grizzly Bear sat together, exuding murderous intent.
"General Hawan, the parasite, feeds off us, drawing huge benefits, yet when his own life is on the line, he swiftly sold out our brethren. It’s truly vile, absolutely infuriating," Grizzly Bear growled, filled with anger and killing intent.
"Our relationship with General Hawan is based on interests. Concerning his own survival, given General Hawan’s cowardly greed, he naturally sold out Black Shark," Hawk spoke calmly. "It’s a rational assumption that Black Shark, under his roof, was lured by General Hawan and subsequently killed by Peng Bird’s group."
"This grudge must be avenged. It’s a disgrace to our Poison Dragon Mercenary Corps. Without teaching General Hawan a lesson, how can our corps maintain its standing? It would be a joke," Sea Horse said with a dark expression.
"We must avenge Old Five, but now isn’t the time. Once we’ve selected General Hawan’s replacement, we might as well get rid of him. Despite the difficulty in dealing with him, if the plan is correct, we can certainly eliminate him to avenge Old Five and restore our honor," Hawk asserted firmly. "But at present, there are needs for General Hawan, and dealing with Peng Bird’s group is the primary goal. We must avoid unnecessary complications."
"Let General Hawan live a few more days. Once we’ve dealt with Peng Bird’s group, I’ll personally take off General Hawan’s head and seek justice for Old Five," Grizzly Bear declared menacingly.
"Peng Bird’s group is quite active in the surrounding regions, which requires particular vigilance. We mustn’t be careless," Hawk remarked nonchalantly. "Since the enemy has emerged, intending to challenge us, we must annihilate them and all emerging adversaries, creating an earth-shattering shakeup to deter the surroundings and intimidate all directions."
"Our Poison Dragon Mercenary Corps has always been peaceful and undisturbed, yet we’ve been provocatively challenged by the insignificant Peng Bird’s group—an utter disgrace. Who knows how many are laughing at us? This mess must be resolved swiftly," Grizzly Bear stated icily.
"Peng Bird’s group might also be connected to other adversaries, so we must be vigilant," Hawk emphasized.
"Whatever jumps out, we’ll destroy them," Sea Horse responded dismissively.
As the strongest mercenary organization in the surrounding area, they naturally possessed unparalleled strength and resources.
The Poison Dragon Mercenary Corps was no pushover, built by overwhelming battle power and exemplary confidence.
