Chapter 736: Utter Chaos
Chapter 736: Utter Chaos
This is indeed possible."Not going to talk, huh?" Melody Thorne’s patience was wearing thin. "You better think carefully. This is your last chance. If I find out, you’ll be condemned by everyone. Do you believe it or not?"
Justin Lawson kept his head down, still not speaking.
Melody Thorne waved her hand. A silhouette emerged from the black fabric behind her, followed by two men holding down the older woman. With a knife, a heartbreaking scream echoed throughout the room.
"Here you go," Harold Chapman’s man threw a finger in front of Justin Lawson. "This is your grandma’s. A person has ten fingers. We can still do this nine more times. Want to go one by one?"
"I’ll fight you to the end!" Justin Lawson screamed out.
"Oh, so one more then?" Someone once again moved behind the curtain.
"No, no, I’ll talk, I’ll talk. A guy named Monkey contacted me, asking me to say I’d been propositioned by my boss. Then he transferred money to me. He didn’t just send this message to me; many people in the company received it."
"Everyone received it?" Nina King was shocked. "I didn’t."
"They didn’t dare send it to you," Melody Thorne chuckled. "I should feel lucky. Out of all the twenty-some signed actors in the company, only one betrayed me."
Nina King "..."
"We can’t find anyone by the name of Monkey," Harold Chapman spoke.
The messages were sent from a machine, and the bank account used for the transfer was closed after the transaction.
"Let him go," Melody Thorne gestured toward Justin Lawson.
"Okay."
She opened her phone, and ever since she released a statement last night, everyone had been arguing. Among them, the issue of Howie’s drug use was the most severe.
Melody Thorne once again sent out a message, lightly skirting over the heavy topic.
"Howie is an artist under my company. Although he is strong-willed, he would never do drugs. I trust my company’s artist and believe in my judgment. Please give me some time; I will find evidence proving Howie is not using drugs."
As soon as she posted on Weibo, she was bombarded.
"Exploding Fish: You’re barely managing to hold on yourself, and you have time to clear the company’s artist? Do you think we’re dumb? No matter what, he’s a man. Even if he did drugs, he could quit. Never seen a married woman so blatantly play around with a company’s artist. Is it fun? Are they each better looking than the last?"
"The guy above is hilarious. If they’re not good-looking, how can she play with them? Not long ago, there was the sister-in-law scandal; now it’s the artist scandal. Damn, the entertainment industry is indeed a mess."
"Haha, don’t you know? In the old days, there were methods to extract energy from men to keep women beautiful forever. Maybe that’s what she’s doing now."
"Why don’t you all try it and see how many she can handle?"
"These people are too much," Nina King gritted her teeth, but now they couldn’t retaliate. Doing so would only make matters worse.
Melody Thorne used Weibo to call out some of the nasty commenters directly. She couldn’t take action for now, but she wouldn’t just swallow her anger.
"[The people I’ve called out here are examples for everyone to see. There’s nothing wrong with me defending my company’s artists. Until things are clarified, if anyone dares fabricate again, I will absolutely not tolerate it. Once the truth comes out, I’ll go after them first!]"
