Chapter 6 Racing
Chapter 6 Racing
Li Zhengyi closed the convenience store and got into the car.
This BMW M3, modified to the point that even its own mother wouldn't recognize it, roared up the mountain.
The mountainside platform was a chaotic scene, with flashing lights and a multitude of sports cars, a thousand times more bustling than during the day.
Several high-powered speakers stood to one side, their subwoofers vibrating so loudly they made one's chest tingle.
The most striking thing is still the people.
To be precise, it was those girls.
In November, the temperature in the suburbs of Seoul is almost below zero at night.
But the girls on the platform are all dressed like they're on a Caribbean beach vacation.
Some were wearing sequined halter-neck mini-skirts.
Her pale thighs were covered in goosebumps in the cold wind, but she still managed to take a selfie with the supercar next to her.
Some were wearing fur coats but nothing underneath.
The car lights flashed.
That deep ditch was absolutely deadly.
There are also those who wear sports bras with heated pants, and they get so into it that they don't even worry about catching a cold.
"How about it, bro, I wasn't lying to you, was I? Isn't it more exciting than convenience stores?"
Kim Soo-ho rolled down the car window and whistled outside. Several girls immediately looked over and gave him flirty looks.
Li Zheng glanced at the chaotic scene of demons dancing outside and muttered a complaint.
"You've brought me to the Antarctic Nightclub Competition."
"Your description is absolutely spot on."
Kim Soo-ho laughed and cursed as he forcefully pulled his car into the starting line, alongside a fluorescent green Lamborghini.
The Lamborghini's window rolled down, revealing a young man with dyed silver hair and an earring in the driver's seat who gave Kim Soo-ho the middle finger.
Kim Soo-ho responded without hesitation, adding a comment.
"Whoever loses tonight, the car emblem is mine!"
"Damn, I'm not afraid of you."
There was a lot of noise at the starting line.
The roar of idling engines, music, whistles, and women's screams mingled together.
Just then, a slender figure swayed as she walked towards M3.
It's a woman.
He looks to be in his early twenties.
He was wearing a white fur coat that looked quite expensive.
But the coat was open, revealing a black sequined deep-V short dress underneath, the dress just short enough to cover her hips.
She walked directly to the passenger side of the M3, bent down, and looked inside through the lowered window.
As she moved, the white, smooth cleavage and the rich scent of perfume rushed in.
"Sooho oppa~ Why are you so late? I've been waiting for you for ages..."
That voice is so sweet it could melt your heart.
His gaze first swept over Kim Soo-ho's face before settling on Lee Jung-il in the passenger seat.
The woman was clearly taken aback when she saw Li Zhengyi's faded work jacket.
"Who is this?"
"My brother," Kim Soo-ho replied casually.
"brother?"
The woman glanced at Li Zhengyi again, a knowing look appearing on her face.
She suddenly smiled charmingly, reached deep into her fur coat, and pulled out a small wad of thick Korean won from her chest area.
Judging from the face value, it must be worth over a million.
She held the stack of money between two fingers and handed it to Li Zhengyi through the car window.
"Hey oppa, can you do me a favor and switch seats with me? For this little bit of money, you can sit in that Porsche in the back. It's my friend's car, and it's very comfortable."
Lee Jung-il didn't answer, but simply raised an eyebrow and looked at Kim Soo-ho.
Kim Soo-ho's face instantly darkened.
"Jin Tae-ah, are you out of your mind? Who do you think you're trying to fool with your stinking money? Do you think my brother is a beggar?!"
He slapped the money out of the woman's hand, and the banknotes scattered inside and outside the car.
Kim Tae-ah was stunned by the shout and felt a little embarrassed.
Especially since people around were already looking over.
Her pretty face turned cold, and she pointed at Kim Soo-ho's nose and started cursing.
"Kim Soo-ho! You're yelling at me? So you're tired of women now, so you're switching to men, huh? No wonder there's this kind of scum sitting in the passenger seat!"
"I Fu*k U, Bitchi!"
Kim Soo-ho immediately cursed and pointed at her face.
"Open your dog eyes and see clearly, this is my brother who's risked his life for me! Li Zhengyi! If you keep spewing filth like that, believe me, I'll have your dad fish you out of the Han River tomorrow."
"Li Zhengyi?"
Kim Tae-ah paused for a moment, then looked again at the "down-on-his-luck young man" in the passenger seat.
His eyes widened in disbelief.
Is it the third son of CJ?
That... I heard he was kicked out of his home two years ago?
Her expression shifted, finally settling into a cold laugh.
"Oh, who do we have here? It's Young Master Li. I'm sorry, your attire is so approachable, I didn't recognize you."
She emphasized the word "approachable".
Then she rolled her eyes at Kim Soo-ho.
"Fine, you two are such good brothers, I'm leaving. Kim Soo-ho, you lost tonight, but don't cry."
After saying that, she walked towards the red Porsche behind her, swaying her hips in her high heels.
Along the way, I was complaining to a few acquaintances when my voice drifted over.
"...What the hell? A stray dog that got kicked out of the house, and you're treating it like a treasure..."
Kim Soo-ho was so angry he wanted to curse again, but Lee Jung-il held his arm down.
"Forget it, why bother arguing with a stupid woman."
"Damn it, this woman is always like this."
Kim Soo-ho, still furious, slammed his fist on the steering wheel.
"Because her father is Kim Bum-soo, Kakao's market value has skyrocketed, and she's become incredibly arrogant. Back when her family was poor, she used to follow us around calling us 'Oppa, Oppa' so sweetly."
"Kim Tae-ah?"
Li Zhengyi searched his memory and vaguely remembered it.
"That kid from when I was little... with a round face, a bit dark-skinned, and always had a runny nose, who was always following me around?"
"Yes! That's her!"
Kim Soo-ho spat.
"She's so unrecognizable, I almost don't recognize her anymore. Jaw reduction, eyelid surgery, rhinoplasty, breast augmentation... she's probably had work done on every movable part of her body. Now she looks presentable."
Li Zheng glanced back at the red Porsche.
Kim Tae-ah was leaning against the car door, smoking a slender cigarette, chatting and laughing with several men and women dressed similarly next to her. Her gaze occasionally drifted over, carrying undisguised contempt.
Li Zhengyi touched his chin.
"If her father is Kim Bum-soo... Kakao Talk is indeed very popular now, with tens of millions of users and a market value exceeding that of CJ Group."
Kim Soo-ho scoffed.
"It's just an inflated figure, an internet bubble. In terms of deep-rooted connections and real businesses on the peninsula, this new money is far inferior. However..."
He paused, then lowered his voice.
"That woman is petty and holds grudges. If, in the future—and I mean just in the worst case—you ever do business with Kakao, be careful of her. She's currently a nominal director of some subsidiary of Kakao; she has no real skills, but she's a master at causing trouble."
"understood."
Li Zheng nodded, but he made a mental note of it.
Kakao……
The future belongs to behemoths that will be involved in music streaming, gaming, payments, and even banking.
As long as he continues to develop, he will eventually face off against them.
However, that's a matter for the future.
The red light ahead started flashing, with three seconds left.
A huge electronic buzzer beeped loudly, drowning out all the noise.
Red light countdown.
The other drivers all stopped smiling and gripped the steering wheel tightly with both hands.
Kim Soo-ho, however, still gripped the steering wheel nonchalantly.
He even had the leisure to talk.
"By the way, we had a family gathering at your house last month, and your dad asked about you again. I told him you were meditating and attaining enlightenment in the convenience store, almost becoming an immortal."
Li Zhengyi: "He didn't believe you for a second."
Kim Soo-ho: "Whether he believes me or not is none of my business. Anyway, I managed to fool him. But I really want to ask..."
The green light flashed, and he floored the accelerator, feeling as if his soul was being pressed into the seat.
