Chapter 10 Krystal Jung Gets Cooked
Chapter 10 Krystal Jung Gets Cooked
The following afternoon, around 4 PM, at Incheon Airport, Seoul, in the underground parking garage.
A roar suddenly rang out from one of the vehicles.
"Hey! Krystal Jung, are you trying to get yourself killed?! Yesterday you insisted that I come pick you up, and now you're saying something came up and you don't need to come anymore. I'm already at the airport, and you're only telling me now."
A conciliatory voice came from the other end of the phone: "I'm sorry, unnie, I didn't expect the company to contact me so suddenly."
Jessica gritted her teeth, suppressing her anger: "Then why didn't you tell me before you got on the plane?"
"Hehe, I just forgot for a moment, I'm sorry unnie, I'll treat you to dinner tonight."
Hearing her younger sister's coquettish voice, Jessica sighed and rubbed her forehead: "I'll deal with you when we get back."
After hanging up the phone, she sighed, started her car, drove out of the underground garage, and headed towards Jung Soo-jung's home in Seoul.
Now that Krystal is back, she naturally can't live with Chen Ran anymore. Last night, she moved some of her clothes from her house to Krystal's house.
On the other side, somewhere in the airport.
A tall figure wearing sunglasses hung up the phone and chuckled softly.
It wasn't that Krystal Jung had any company issues; rather, she suddenly remembered Jessica mentioning her house renovation when she got off the plane.
Her intuition told her that Jessica was probably hiding something from her.
So she decided to sneak off to Jessica's house alone to take a look.
Krystal Jung handed her suitcase to her manager standing next to her.
"Unnie, could you take my suitcase home for me? I have something to do, so I'll be going now."
"Okay."
After saying goodbye to her manager, Jung Soo-jung, fully armed, hailed a taxi and headed straight for Jessica's house.
Upon arriving at their destination, Krystal Jung paid the fare and got out of the car. She turned her head and glanced at the house, her expression momentarily blank.
Because the house in front of her was exactly the same as before she left, and there was no one else around.
"They said it was a renovation, but there's not a trace of construction at all. The renovation company people didn't see any either," Jung Soo-jung muttered to herself.
Upon reaching the main gate, she skillfully entered the password on the combination lock.
The door opened with a beep indicating the password was correct, but the door remained closed.
Krystal Jung paused for a moment, then gripped the doorknob with her right hand and tried to turn it to open the door.
The doorknob remained unmoved.
Krystal tried a little harder, but it still didn't work.
"What's wrong? Is the door lock broken?"
I tried entering the password twice more to open the door, but it still wouldn't open.
Krystal frowned, somewhat speechless, then bent down and pressed her right ear against the door.
After listening for a while, there was no sound from inside the room.
She looked around the house again.
This doesn't look like a renovation at all.
She thought for a moment, then took out her phone and dialed Jessica's number.
A few seconds later, the call connected, and she immediately preemptively snapped, "Jessica, you lied to me!"
Jessica, who was almost at Krystal's house, was taken aback by what she heard: "I lied to you? What did I lie about?"
"You lied to me and said your house was being renovated, but it wasn't at all."
There was a moment of silence on the other end of the phone, followed by Jessica's suddenly raised voice:
"What?! You went to my house?! You went inside?!"
"No, the lock on the front door seems to be broken. The password is correct, but the door won't open."
"You wait there, I'm coming right now!"
After hanging up the phone, Krystal Jung narrowed her eyes.
Jessica is so nervous.
She glanced at the door; something was definitely going on inside!
About ten minutes later, a slightly urgent braking sound was heard.
Jessica parked her car and walked quickly towards the front door.
"Hey, Krystal Jung, didn't you say the company needed to talk to you? You lied to me!"
Faced with her questioning, Krystal Jung was not intimidated at all, and said defiantly, "You lied to me too, the house wasn't renovated at all, right?"
Jessica gritted her teeth.
She should have realized it sooner; she knew this girl wasn't so easily fooled.
The two of them stood at the door, staring at each other, neither of them saying a word.
Finally, Jessica sighed softly.
It seems I can't fool her anymore. If I don't explain things clearly, this girl definitely won't let it go.
Oh well, she and Chen Ran were already mentally prepared anyway.
My younger sister is someone I can absolutely trust. This is a good opportunity to test whether bringing outsiders into the house will cause any changes.
No outsiders have entered this house since that night.
She and Chen Ran had each observed the house before; from the outside, it looked exactly the same as it had always been.
Simply put, in the world of 2012, it is the shape of Chen Ran's house, and in 2025, it is the shape of Jessica's house.
The real change was inside the house; from the outside, there was no sign of anything unusual.
Jessica looked at Krystal Jung and pursed her lips: "Never mind, come inside with me."
After saying that, she raised her hand to enter the door code and grasped the doorknob.
"click"
The door opened with a click.
Krystal Jung, standing behind him, was dumbfounded.
It wasn't like this before, how come it can be opened now?
She followed Jessica into the house, puzzled.
When she saw the scene inside the room, her eyes widened instantly.
---
In 2012, in Gangnam District, at the entrance of a Chinese restaurant.
"Uncle Han".
Chen Ran greeted the store manager upon arriving at the store.
This shop belongs to his own family.
Yesterday, Jessica Jung invited him to dinner and asked him if there was anything he wanted to eat. Chen Ran didn't stand on ceremony and directly recommended his own restaurant.
We should keep the good stuff within the family.
"Xiao Ran, Miss Jessica Jung has arrived."
"Okay, I understand."
Chen Ran walked all the way to the door of the private room that Jessica Jung had reserved and pushed open the door.
Jessica Jung, who had been there for a while, politely stood up when she saw him come in.
Her eyes flickered slightly after seeing Chen Ran's attire.
Today, Chen Ran didn't wear a suit like he did at the banquet. Instead, he simply wore a white short-sleeved T-shirt, paired with dark blue loose jeans and white sneakers.
But even with such a simple outfit, paired with his handsome face, he inexplicably exudes a sense of style.
If Chen Ran in his suit at the banquet that night gave Jessica Jung the feeling of a refined young nobleman, then Chen Ran now gives the feeling of a young and promising man.
"I'm sorry I'm late."
Jessica Jung smiled and shook her head: "It's okay, I just arrived too."
The table in the private room was a small round table, and Chen Ran went straight to sit down opposite Jessica Jung.
Jessica Jung handed over the menu: "Chen Ran, please order. I don't know much about Chinese food."
"it is good."
After ordering, the waiter left the private room.
Chen Ran looked at Jessica Jung across from him and subconsciously compared her to Jessica at home.
I didn't really look closely at the banquet hall last time, but now that I'm looking closely, I realize that there isn't much difference between the two.
However, the Jessica Jung in front of me had a more youthful face and clearer eyes, possessing a unique charm that belonged to her teenage years.
Also... Jessica Jung's forehead isn't as big as Jessica's.
Across from her, Jessica Jung naturally noticed Chen Ran's gaze, but she didn't feel any disgust; instead, she was a little puzzled.
Because Chen Ran's gaze held neither fear nor appreciation; rather, it was more like pure observation.
That's right, it's observation.
He was observing himself, as if comparing himself to someone else.
