30: A Kiss Goodbye
30: A Kiss Goodbye
Ten days later, Han Wen, carrying all his documents and luggage, prepared to travel alone to Shanghai.
Although Zhou Ning was mentally prepared, she still couldn't accept it emotionally when Han Wen actually wanted to leave her.
She lost interest in continuing her studies, took a day off, accompanied Hanwen on the subway, and took him to the train station.
After the two arrived at the station, Han Wen handed his suitcase to Zhou Ning and went to buy tickets by himself.
Then, he took the tickets and led Zhou Ning toward the platform.
Zhou Ning dragged her suitcase, staying close to Han Wen, and longed to reach out and hold Han Wen's arm like the other couples around them.
However, there were too many passengers around her, and she felt shy. She was tempted several times, but in the end, she chose to give up.
The two quickly arrived at the platform. Watching the trains that didn't stop and then quickly departed, and the surging tide of people coming and going, Zhou Ning's sorrow at parting grew even stronger.
"Hanwen, remember, call me as soon as you arrive in Shanghai to let me know you're safe," Zhou Ning carefully instructed. "I'll keep an eye out for the phone booths outside the typing shop, waiting for your call."
"Sister Ning, don't worry. I will never forget what you asked me to do." Han Wen nodded.
"Call me every day, don't forget," Zhou Ning continued to emphasize.
"Okay, I'll call every day. I'll call once in the morning and once in the afternoon." Han Wen laughed, "Once I get to Songhu City, I'll rent a place nearby with a phone booth so I can call you anytime."
Whenever I miss you, I'll call you. Even if it's at night, you have to answer.
When the time comes, please don't complain about the trouble, and don't get angry.
"I won't be angry," Zhou Ning shook his head.
"Alright, it's a deal." Han Wen extended the little finger of his right hand.
Zhou Ning understood what Han Wen meant, and extended her little finger to gently make a pinky promise with him.
Taking this opportunity, Han Wen naturally pulled Zhou Ning into his arms. Then, he used his tall frame to shield her from the cold.
Actually, Zhou Ning is quite tall, over 1.7 meters. However, she doesn't like wearing high heels. So, compared to Han Wen, who is 1.8 meters tall, she's still a bit shorter.
She hadn't expected Han Wen to be so bold as to hug her in front of so many people. She felt a little resistant and wanted to dodge him.
But Hanwen's embrace was so warm; it felt really comfortable to lean against it.
Moreover, the other party did not do anything else excessive, so she thought about it and gave up.
The two of them stayed close together, spontaneously saying words of concern they would never have said before. Before they knew it, time had slipped away.
When the southbound green train roared and rumbled in from afar, it startled not only Han Wen and Zhou Ning, but also the other passengers on the platform.
Everyone rushed toward the train, ready to board.
As their parting was imminent, Zhou Ning held Han Wen's hand tightly, reluctant to let go. She looked up at his face, not wanting him to leave.
"Sister Ning, are you reluctant to see me leave?" Han Wenming asked knowingly.
"Mmm." Zhou Ning nodded: "I've gotten used to being together, and it feels a little strange without you by my side all of a sudden."
"Don't worry, I'll be back soon," Han Wen reassured her.
"I don't know why, but suddenly I feel really reluctant to part with you." Zhou Ning was somewhat discouraged, looking very depressed and puzzled.
It was only at this moment that she gradually came to understand the feelings deep within her heart. For a woman in her early twenties to be so slow to react was truly frustrating for Han Wen.
"Sister Ning, actually, I'll miss you too." Han Wen smiled.
"Even at a time like this, you can still laugh." Zhou Ning was angry and wanted to cry: "You are heartless and have no conscience."
"Sister Ning, may I kiss you?" Han Wen suddenly asked, deviating from the expected approach.
"Huh? What did you say?" Zhou Ning's expression suddenly turned surprised, her beautiful eyes widening.
"Ning-jie, I like you. So, since we're about to part, I want to kiss you," Han Wen replied earnestly.
"Oh no, there are so many people here. If they see us, it'll be so embarrassing." Zhou Ning was incredibly excited.
However, reason quickly prevailed over emotion, leading her to refuse.
"As long as you close your eyes, no one else can see you," Han Wen persisted.
"Oh, really?" Zhou Ning was a little confused and didn't understand the meaning of Han Wen's words for a moment.
However, she couldn't help herself and actually closed her eyes.
Seeing how adorable Zhou Ning was, and how easily he had fooled her, Han Wen felt very pleased and proud.
Before Zhou Ning could react, he suddenly pulled his arms around her and hugged her tightly. Then he lowered his head and kissed her delicate red lips.
In the blink of an eye, Zhou Ning's first kiss was gone.
However, she had no regrets or anger; instead, her heart was filled with happiness and joy.
I wish time could stand still, and that this beautiful and sweet kiss would never end.
Han Wen kissed Zhou Ning gently for a while before releasing her lips and body, picking up the suitcase beside him, and preparing to get into the car.
"Han Wen, are you leaving?" Zhou Ning opened his eyes, looking bewildered and helpless.
"Sister Ning, every parting is for a better reunion in the future." Han Wen nodded and walked towards the train: "Wait for me to come back. I love you."
"Han Wen, I love you too." Zhou Ning felt her cheeks burning hot, and she was incredibly shy. But she still whispered those words aloud.
"Go back now, I'm leaving." Han Wen was overjoyed when he heard this. He gave him a few more words of advice and boarded the train.
However, Zhou Ning did not leave. Her gaze followed Han Wen's movements in the carriage, fixed on him intently, as if afraid of losing him.
Current train tickets are not registered under real names and do not have seat numbers.
Han Wen dragged his suitcase in one hand and held his train ticket in the other, and it took him a while to find an empty seat.
He put his suitcase in the overhead rack, sat down, and turned to look at the platform.
On the platform, Zhou Ning was still standing there. She saw Han Wen looking at her and waved her hands frantically. As she waved, tears streamed down her face.
Han Wen couldn't see Zhou Ning's tears, but he knew from her expression and movements that she seemed to be crying.
He waved goodbye to Zhou Ning while sighing inwardly. His heart ached so much he could hardly breathe.
A dozen minutes later, the train finally started moving. Han Wen turned his head to look at Zhou Ning, feeling her figure receding into the distance.
Finally, the other person's figure completely disappeared from his sight.
