Chapter 19
Chapter 19
Li Yuan caught up with the two in two steps.
"Are you also flying tomorrow?"
Chou Tzu-yu's schedule ends today, and it's probably time for her to go back. JYP isn't going to be so kind as to give their artists a break.
And with TWICE's first Japan Arena tour coming up, she can't miss it.
Mina has been in Taiwan for a week now, but it's unclear whether she'll return to Korea to rest or continue with her group's schedule.
Lee Won quickly went through the timeline in his mind—he remembered that although Mina wasn't in good condition this year, she still spent most of her time with the group, so she missed the SBS Gayo Daejeon at the end of the year, right?
Thinking of this, he couldn't help but mentally criticize JYPE's "humanity" once again.
"Yes, my flight is at seven tomorrow." Chou Tzu-yu nodded, her eyes crinkling under her hat brim.
"And what about you?" Li Yuan turned his head to look at Minami.
"I...I have to go back to work too." Mina sighed softly. "A week's rest this time is more than enough."
Although the rest she took a few days ago had almost no effect, she was indeed quite happy these past two days. From watching the concert to laughing, running, and playing around without any restraint in the amusement park today, it was as if she released all the emotions that had been pent up for a long time at once.
"It's a pity I have to go back to the capital, otherwise I would have gone back with you all." Li Yuan shook his head with a regretful expression.
"It's okay, there will be plenty of opportunities to get together in the future." Chou Tzu-yu smiled and said in a light tone, "After all, Lee Won oppa will be staying in Korea from now on."
"That makes sense." Li Yuan glanced at the roadside sign and casually turned towards an amusement park ride.
He looked up at the name above—High-altitude Glass Skywalk.
Lee Yuan and Chou Tzu-yu walked and talked, neither paying much attention to the direction.
By the time Mina realized what was happening, it was too late.
She looked up at the glass walkway suspended in mid-air not far away, suddenly stopped, and turned to walk back.
"No, it's not dangerous at all." Li Yuan reacted quickly and grabbed her arm.
"No, people will die!" Mina shook her arms, trying to break free.
But her strength was no match for Li Yuan's; her struggles were large, but the actual effect was practically zero.
"Yeah, Mina unnie, this is very safe." Chou Tzu-yu also came over and grabbed her other arm with a grin.
Aside from her trip to Switzerland, she had never seen Mina do such a high-altitude activity before.
"Hajima, hajima!" Mina shook her head and backed away, her voice tinged with panic. "No way! No way!"
She went through the three languages in turn, and finally, in her haste, she even blurted out Japanese.
Two people, one on each side, escorted Minami to the front of the plank road like prisoners.
"Just once. See, it's very safe." Chou Tzu-yu even went up to demonstrate, stomping her feet twice on the glass floor. "See, it didn't budge."
"No, no!" Mina glanced at the towering tree canopy below the glass walkway and the figures shrunken to the size of ants in the distance, and shook her head repeatedly.
Just imagining the feeling of her feet dangling in the air made her legs go weak.
"Unnie..." Chou Tzu-yu leaned closer and lowered her voice, "Everyone's looking at us, we'll be spotted by passersby soon."
When the hard approach didn't work, Chou Tzu-yu decisively changed her strategy and started using a softer approach.
"Yeah, yeah, you don't want others to find out, do you?" Li Yuan began speaking in a Japanese style.
"Then let me go." Mina remained stubbornly standing in place, her body leaning back slightly, as if she were tug-of-war with Li Yuan.
But she had already subconsciously glanced at the crowd around her, and several people's eyes had indeed drifted in her direction.
Li Yuan also noticed those gazes.
"Let's hurry up and get there, or we'll really be recognized," Li Yuan said after thinking for a moment. "How about this, after I get to Korea, I'll go shopping with you guys. Everything will be on me. How does that sound?"
He had no doubt about Tzuyu's popularity in Taiwan; with TWICE's current popularity, it was only a matter of time before she was recognized.
If they keep making a scene, passersby will definitely notice.
As expected, Mina stopped struggling upon hearing Li Jing's words, then looked at him with an uncertain expression:
"real?"
"How could this be fake!" Li Yuan said with certainty.
Although he originally had a slight intention to tease Mina, he now just wanted to get across the glass walkway as quickly as possible.
I don't want to be trending in South Korea again.
So, with the two men "escorting" her, Mina shakily stepped onto the glass walkway.
After walking only a few steps, Mina felt her legs begin to weaken.
She looked down at the scenery at her feet again, and felt even worse.
"No, I can't go anymore." Mina stopped in her tracks, and she began to consider backing out.
"We've come this far, after all," Li Yuan repeated the condition, "Don't forget about shopping."
"Yeah, unnie can't be so timid!" Chou Tzu-yu started causing trouble.
She walked behind Minami and stomped her foot on the glass floor with a little force.
"Clatter!" Mina's voice trembled with fright as she instinctively reached out to grab the railing beside her. "Ouch! Clatter!"
"Hey, don't scare her." Li Yuan looked at the mischievous Zhou Ziyu and shook his head helplessly.
He had already experienced Yu's cunning and manipulative methods back when she was a trainee.
"Okay." Chou Tzu-yu grinned and then obediently stood next to Lee Won.
"No, I can't walk anymore." Mina held onto the railing and didn't let go.
"We're almost there." Li Yuan pointed to the finish line, which wasn't far away, his tone encouraging.
"No, we can't leave." Mina shook her head, her voice rising a few decibels, "Li Yuan!"
Seeing that Mina had started calling his name and that people around them were looking in their direction, Li Yuan made up his mind, walked up to Mina, and bent down slightly.
"I'm sorry." Li Yuan gave a helpless smile.
"What are you going to do?" Mina looked at his smile and a sense of foreboding welled up inside her.
Then she watched as Li Yuan squatted down with his back to her, then hooked his hands behind her back, firmly hooking her legs, and carried her on his back.
Fortunately, many couples on the boardwalk also chose to cross in this way, so the two did not attract much extra attention.
"Hey, Li Yuan, put me down!" Feeling the occasional gazes directed at her from around her, Mina's face under her mask burned like she had a fever, turning red from her neck all the way to her ears.
"I can walk by myself." Her voice trailed off, almost whispering in Li Yuan's ear.
Strands of hair fell down, brushing against his cheeks.
Li Yuan felt the soft touch from behind, warm and real against his back through his clothes, her breath close to his ear, damp and warm.
Her arms were wrapped around his neck, and the inside of her wrists was pressed against his collarbone. He could feel the temperature of her skin, which was slightly cooler than his.
He could even clearly feel her heartbeat, transmitted through the fabric, at a very fast frequency.
"Forget it, it's just a couple of steps." Li Yuan's tone was calm, but his pace was noticeably faster than before.
Finally, Li Yuan stepped onto the platform at the end of the plank road, but he was still standing there, not putting her down immediately.
"Hurry up and put me down!" Mina's voice came from behind, tinged with embarrassment and annoyance.
Li Yuan then came to his senses, quickly bent down, and carefully put Minami down.
