Xiu Gou's Taming Record

Chapter 152 Contract

Chapter 152 Contract

Bai Xinran, who was curled up on the sofa, moved slightly.

"A contract?" She looked up at Yu Heng, her voice very soft.

"Hmm." Yu Heng looked at her. "A formal contract, in black and white, clearly stating rights and obligations, reward and punishment clauses, and so on."

Bai Xinran didn't speak. She knew about this, but she had never experienced it.

"Okay," Bai Xinran nodded, "I'm ready."

Yu Heng looked at her for a few seconds, then suddenly laughed: "Aren't you going to ask me what kind of clauses I'll be writing?"

"I'll accept whatever you write," Bai Xinran said. "Anyway... you won't hurt me."

She meant it sincerely.

"A contract is a two-way street," Yu Heng said, reaching out to pull her close. "Although this thing has no legal effect, it's like a ceremony, like a wedding. You can get married by just going to the civil affairs bureau to register your marriage, but people will still have a wedding."

Bai Xinran nestled in his arms and pursed her lips. Yes, a wedding ceremony alone has no legal effect, but Yu Heng was willing to give her such a ceremony, so she was very happy.

"Then..." Bai Xinran began, her voice soft, "when will you sign?"

Yu Heng turned his head to look at her. He could feel that her body was a little more tense than before.

"No rush," Yu Heng said. "Let me prepare the content first."

Bai Xinran nodded: "Okay."

"Before that," Yu Heng whispered in her ear, "you have to get used to a few things first."

"What is it?" she asked, looking up.

"For example," Yu Heng's voice was tinged with amusement, "you'll need to change how you address someone when you're at home and there are no outsiders around."

Bai Xinran pursed her lips upon hearing this, as if she wanted to say something, but then bit her lip and after a while, she whispered, "I understand... Master..."

"Good girl," Yu Heng hugged her and stroked her head, "So wonderful..."

-

On Friday afternoon, the rain was light but somewhat dense.

Yu Heng pushed open the supermarket door, and a cold wind mixed with rain poured in. He stepped aside to let Shen Yueling and Bai Xinran go in first.

"This rain isn't going to stop anytime soon," Yu Heng said, shaking the water droplets off his coat.

Shen Yueling put the umbrella back in the umbrella rack by the door. Her hair was damp with rain, and a few strands clung to her forehead.

Bai Xinran rubbed her hands together; her fingertips were a little red. "It's really cold today."

The three of them pushed the cart inside, with Yu Heng walking in front and Shen Yueling and Bai Xinran following side by side behind.

Yu Heng pushed the cart toward the fresh produce section, wondering whether he should buy a car.

The villa isn't far from the school, but it's really inconvenient to go out on rainy days, and it's hard to get a taxi.

"Let's buy some pork ribs," Shen Yueling said, taking a box from the refrigerator. "To make soup."

"Okay." Yu Heng took the box and put it into the cart.

Bai Xinran was picking out vegetables on the other side. She picked up a bunch of romaine lettuce, looked at it, and then put it down.

"Ah Ling," Yu Heng called out, "Buy whatever you want to eat, don't just look."

"Okay," Bai Xinran replied, taking two broccoli florets.

The three of them strolled slowly along the shelves, and when they looked up, they saw someone walking towards them from the opposite direction.

He Mengyao.

She also saw Yu Heng.

When their eyes met, He Mengyao paused for a moment.

Then she saw Shen Yueling and Bai Xinran behind Yu Heng.

She narrowed her eyes and subconsciously gritted her teeth.

Yu Heng's face remained expressionless as he pushed the cart forward.

The two groups met in the open space between the shelves, but neither of them spoke, and they passed each other by.

When they reached the hygiene products section, Bai Xinran suddenly whispered, "I'm going to buy something."

"What?" Yu Heng turned to look at her.

Bai Xinran pursed her lips: "Sanitary napkin, I think I'm about to get my period."

Shen Yueling chimed in, "I'll go too, I'm almost done too."

Yu Heng nodded: "Then you guys go ahead, I'll go check out the snack section."

Bai Xinran responded and walked towards the hygiene products section with Shen Yueling.

Yu Heng pushed the cart around and headed towards the snack section.

The shelves are narrow, making it difficult for the cart to turn.

Yu Heng moved slowly, turned a corner, and saw the puffed food section ahead.

Then he saw He Mengyao standing there, bending down to take a bag of potato chips from the shelf.

She heard the sound of the cart being pushed, straightened up, and turned her head.

"Are you leaving or not?" Yu Heng asked.

He Mengyao looked at him without saying a word.

"If you're not leaving, move aside," Yu Heng said again.

He Mengyao remained motionless, staring at Yu Heng's face.

The music playing in the supermarket had changed; it was a slow love song.

"You're quite busy," He Mengyao finally said.

Yu Heng didn't reply.

"With women on both sides," He Mengyao continued, her voice laced with sarcasm, "and even taking them shopping at the supermarket together, you two seem to be living a pretty good life."

"What does this have to do with you?" Yu Heng asked.

He Mengyao bit her lip and didn't say anything.

"I just wanted to remind you," He Mengyao frowned, "They're students, and you're a student too?"

Yu Heng raised an eyebrow: "What do you mean?"

"They're all full-time students now, so they can devote all their energy to relationships, or even not need relationships at all, just be happy. They don't have to worry about anything. As long as you have enough energy and can handle it, let alone two or three, even four or five people would be willing." He Mengyao smiled. "But what about the future? How long can this last? After graduation, when they start working and living a real life, do you think it will still be like this?"

Yu Heng narrowed his eyes and looked at He Mengyao.

"Yu Heng, we've been through the same thing," He Mengyao said calmly. "We got divorced too, didn't we?"

"You're right," Yu Heng said, frowning as he looked at her. "That's why I'm starting my own business. I'll prepare to eliminate these problems before they arise. Besides, I've had a failed experience before, so this time will be much better than last time."

"You're amazing," He Mengyao said through gritted teeth, "using the experience you had on me to think about other women."

"I'm thinking of you too," Yu Heng said, looking at her. "He Mengyao, I love you, but I don't like you anymore. In the end, we've both changed, and what's changed can't be undone, so saying anything is meaningless. Now I can think of you too, but would you be willing to be one of my women?"

"You!" He Mengyao was confused by his words. He suddenly said he loved her, and then he said he didn't like her anymore.

"You don't want to," Yu Heng smiled, "you're not that kind of person, so I'd still be happy if we could be friends in the future, after all, we might be the only two people in this world who are the same."
