Chapter 159: It’s Still Too Soon
Chapter 159: It’s Still Too Soon
"Please forget about that, my Lord... It was... Merely just a slip of the tongue," Olivia explained while dressing herself.
"Right..."
Both of us were dressing ourselves with our backs facing each other, the atmosphere having turned a little awkward after that.
It’s not like I didn’t have feelings for her or even Ava either... Both of them were exceptionally beautiful women and I don’t think any straight guy would say no to them if they were given the chance to be with them as well.
And I know for a fact through their actions that there was at least some emotions in this physical relationship that was brought about with the excuse of making me stronger.
I cleared my throat, "Ahem... What if... I said that I feel the same way, Olivia? Just... Hypothetically."
There was a short pause from Olivia’s side of the room before she spoke up, "You should not, my Lord... For someone like me, I am not worthy of this honour. You are someone who will stand on top of the World or maybe even the Universe one day... I am just someone who is only worthy enough to support you from afar, my Lord."
I knew she would say something like that...
There’s a reason why I hadn’t broached this topic to her this entire time... Olivia puts me on such a tall pedestal that she doesn’t believe that she would even stand a chance to be physical with me if it wasn’t for the fact that I had something to gain from it.
I guess I still have a long way to go if I want her to actually be honest with her feelings...
I’m still not sure how to go about it though so... Hmm... Maybe I can ask Ava for help?
Anyway, that’s something to consider later since we have other things to worry about right now.
First was the meeting with the Bunarfs to decide on the future developments of this island before we would meet with the Guardians to decide their living arrangements.
Once we were properly dressed, ignoring the fact that Olivia was still wearing her torn pantyhose and also the fact that she just slid her panties back over her crotch to hide my seed that was still in her womb... We made our way to the agreed meeting spot with the Bunarfs.
We were just a little late and Maylene and her sisters were already gathered in the meeting room to wait for us.
"My apologies for being late," Olivia apologised as she stepped into the room.
The sisters turned to say something but froze when they saw me come in behind Olivia.
"Eh?! Qing is here too?" Sagia gasped.
Maylene scratched her cheek,"Eh? Did I not tell everyone? Looks like I forgot, teehee~"
The meeting room was quite spacious and it seems like it was made with the possibility to accommodate people of different sizes here, most likely to future proof it.
Olivia guided me to the seat at the head of the table while she took the seat right beside mine.
"Alright... My Lord is here to listen in on our discussion and provide his own feedback to anything he deemed necessary. Do not hold back on anything that is being discussed here as this would also involve my Lord."
I went ahead to back her up and raised my hand at the girls, "You can just discuss like I’m not here. I’ll only speak if addressed to and when it’s necessary."
The bunny girls looked at each other before they nodded.
Netty spoke up first, the bunny girl taking a moment to flick her crimson red hair back before speaking.
"For the manufacturing part... We’re now at a point where the rate of incoming raw materials far exceeds our speed to process them. I suggest that we start working on having a dedicated production plant where we can process and manufacture at a bigger capacity than our current capabilities."
I couldn’t help but let my eyes drift southwards from her face.
Every single one of them was wearing a bunny girl outfit, making it look like I was sitting in some kind of bunny girl cafe or something.
Netty and Inies were wearing leotards that matched their hair colours while Sagia, Vittaria and Maylene wore different colours.
I wonder if that was going to be their uniform or if they intend to switch up their colours from time to time.
Thankfully, I already had that session with Olivia earlier or else I might be pitching a tent right now with the sight in front of me.
Inies placed something on the table that projected a screen in front of her and started tapping on a holographic keyboard.
What the heck, that’s so cool.
The blue haired bunny girl adjusted her spectacles, "We already plan to change our current living space into a full production plant but in order to do that, we would need to set up a new living space for everyone first."
Netty frowned, "At this rate, even our storage will overflow and we can’t keep depending on Maylene to keep shrinking and expanding everything by running around the island. It only worked temporarily since our work area was so small but now that we’ve expanded, the production speed will inevitably slow down even with her super speed."
Maylene raised her hand, "It’s alright! I can just run faster to compensate for it!"
Olivia hummed, "I have a suggestion. You could first convert some of the living spaces into temporary production facilities while some of the Bunarfs move into the extra space within the tower first. If needed, you can also have a small scale production facility located within the tower as well which you can modify later on if necessary."
Sagia frowned, "For us to use Qing’s tower like that... Would that even be ok? I mean... Isn’t this his personal space?"
Everyone suddenly turned their heads to me.
Err... I don’t really mind though? I never saw the entire tower as my personal space to begin with... Heck, I already think having that penthouse to myself was already a little excessive...
I nodded, "I’ll allow it."
Olivia bowed her head to me, "Thank you for your benevolence, my Lord."
"Thank you, Qing!!" Maylene giggled, bouncing up and down on her seat.
Vittaria then spoke up, the dark skinned bunny girl pulling up a holographic tablet that showed some graphs that I did not understand.
"I have some things to report... Because of the lowered production speed... We might not be able to keep up with the demand needed for new building plans... We will have to pause some of them and prioritise certain expansion projects..."
The other bunny girls seemed to look distraught at that piece of news, almost like they were told they could no longer enjoy some kind of luxury they were enjoying before.
If this was anyone else, they might be actually happy to hear that they don’t need to work as much as before but I guess to the bunny girls, this kind of work was a luxury to them.
Sagia sighed, "It can’t be helped then... We’ll have to decide which project to put on hold for now until we can get our production rate back up to speed."
I raised an eyebrow, "I don’t get it, why can’t we just import the needed materials from the mainland? It’s not like we are completely cut off right? In the first place, didn’t we sign some kind of agreement with the government that grants us access to import materials to expand and develop the island for our own needs in exchange for the Mana Crystals?"
There was a pause before Olivia raised her hand slightly, "Would that be alright, my Lord? I have been trying to prevent the usage of the Mana Crystals and depending on external sources this entire time so that we can prevent a situation where we end up being overreliant on an external party or having someone take advantage of our dependence."
I scratched my cheek, "I mean... We only need to use them for just this short period of time before we start doing our own thing, right? We can just set up some kind of short term contract over a period of time that we need those materials and then just end it once the time is up."
Olivia thought about it for a moment, "That’s definitely possible... In that case, Sagia, please send me the materials that you need later and I will arrange for it to be transported."
I then interrupted, "Actually... Do you girls even have an idea of what to build here? Like... What’s the plan for this place?"
Inies’s glasses seemed to flash with light, "I’m so glad you asked~"
She slid some kind of projection device to the centre of the table and I was greeted with a holographic projection of what I can only describe as some kind of sci-fi city with towering buildings and what looked like flying cars floating around said buildings.
...
...
Girls? Are you really trying to build a new city state here?
