Chapter 323 - 277: Movements of the Demon Race
Crossing continents is different from crossing worlds; with just a momentary spatial displacement, Lynn appeared in a place both familiar and strange.
It’s familiar because it looks exactly like the other side of the space channel he just crossed, but it’s strange because as soon as he crossed over, his entire perception changed dramatically.
Although this side doesn’t seem any different from the surface of the Divine Protection Continent, just a deep breath of the air here would likely make an elf, extremely sensitive to the natural environment, stumble.
His wife and children, who followed him across the space channel, landed and frowned.
"The air quality here is terrible due to the Demonic Qi pollution."
As a "Pioneer" who once briefly visited the Demon Realm thanks to Lynn, Catherine immediately noticed the similarity between the natural environment here on the Divine Protection Continent and the Demon Realm.
The feeling here is like being in a youthful version of the Demon Realm; clearly, the Divine Protection Continent is affected by Demonic Qi pollution, but not too severely. At least with her strength, she only felt a slight difference but wasn’t uncomfortable.
In her estimation, any healthy adult should be able to barely survive here. If one’s level were around 200, they could live normally here, despite the poor air quality.
However, it’s hard to say, because this side belongs to the half-continent occupied by the Divine Protection Continent’s military, while beyond the snow-capped mountains in the central continent is the Demon Race’s occupied area, where the natural environment is probably severely polluted.
"Greetings, Lynn, Saint Emperor... Your Highnesses, Imperial Consorts..."
Near this space channel is the rear headquarters of the Divine Protection Continent’s allied forces stationed on the Divine Protection Continent, and as soon as Lynn and his party crossed continents, someone came to greet them.
Behind that person was a large group of powerful individuals, dressed as military generals and officials, likely leaders from various factions among the stationed forces here.
However, Lynn’s time was tight and he had no leisure for formalities. Without waiting for the base camp leader to say much, he led his group forward as he spoke.
"Is there a direct Teleportation Array to the frontline? We’re leaving immediately."
The base camp leader was good at reading people. He saw that Lynn had an efficient manner, not typical of traditional aristocrats, and quickly shifted from forthcoming politeness to a very earnest reply.
"There is a direct Teleportation Array to the snow mountain area within the camp, but it doesn’t lead directly to the confrontation zone. To reach the frontline position, even high-level Saint Tier needs to fly for half an hour."
High-level Saint Tier would need to fly for half an hour, but if Lynn went solo, it might not even take five minutes. However, he couldn’t gain experience from kills alone, so he had to bring his wife and children along. Riding on Natasha, the whole family could reach in about ten minutes.
He hoped the Demon Race hadn’t already gone rampant; otherwise, with their mighty speed those above level 700 might escape too quickly, reducing his chance to intercept many demons.
"Everyone moves together. You handle guiding the large forces coming from behind. Tell them to head nonstop to the frontline. I will try to secure the snow mountain area, intercept as many from the Demon Race as possible, and push them into a dead end!"
With that said, Lynn and his group were quickly led by the camp leader to the Teleportation Array in the core area of the rear base camp, a rapid passageway for transporting vital personnel and resources only activated under emergency circumstances.
Once Lynn’s group had all entered the array, the operators received orders and promptly activated the array. With a flash of white light, Lynn, who had landed less than two minutes ago, rushed to the snow mountain frontline.
"Natasha, fly full speed to the far side of the snow mountain region, and don’t stop for anything along the way."
Arriving via Teleportation Array to a vast icy camp, Lynn wasted no time speaking to anyone. He summoned Natasha to revert to her original form, and had their whole family and the cats mount her.
In this area, the pollution from Demonic Qi was considerably worse, coupled with the harsh natural environment of the snow mountains. The two pet cats had to cuddle into their owner’s arms to avoid freezing, while their owners, still weak, huddled close to their fiery Catherine mother for warmth.
Seeing this, Lynn slapped his forehead and immediately raised a Fighting Spirit Shield that enveloped everyone, blocking the severe cold entirely. However, because Demonic Qi had permeated the air, even Lynn couldn’t block the pollution without exposing his own Magic Power.
Upon receiving orders, Natasha immediately transformed into a mighty and colossal Giant Dragon, lowered her head to pick up her husband, sisters, children, and pets, and flew into the sky before the camp inhabitants could approach, heading straight towards the Demon Race’s occupied zone.
Following Lynn’s instruction, she flew very high, even above the clouds. While this wouldn’t fool the keen-sensed Demon Race experts, Lynn’s Fighting Spirit Shield concealed them, making it undetectable to any below level 900, unless they encountered pre-set detection towers or similar devices.
Natasha flew swiftly, reaching above the Demon Race’s military camp in no time. Lynn peered down to find the massive camp had not yet plunged into a chaotic collapse but had already begun to split and scatter.
