Chapter 256: Loose Mouth
Chapter 256: Loose Mouth
"Ahem!"
The sudden cough interrupted the flow of the story.
Su Mo looked over.
Yang Qingxi smiled sweetly. It was a very beautiful smile.
Unfortunately, Su Mo instantly felt danger.
"Su Mo."
Her voice remained gentle.
"Isn’t that enough? Your stories are endless."
"Are you planning to tell everything in one sitting?"
Su Mo immediately understood the hidden meaning.
Give me a break. I had enough of your nonsense.
His expression became slightly embarrassed.
It seemed he had gotten carried away.
However, before he could respond, Shen Xing protested.
"Why stop?"
"His stories are interesting!"
Yang Qingxi’s smile widened.
Shen Xing suddenly felt a chill run down her spine.
She wasn’t sure why.
Meanwhile, Su Mo finally realized he had perhaps boasted a little too much.
Only a little.
Maybe.
He nodded seriously.
"You’re right."
"I shouldn’t tell everything at once."
"No!"
Shen Xing looked genuinely distressed.
"Don’t stop!"
"I still want to know what happened next."
Then she asked the question that mattered most.
"Was the giant mechanical puppet you built larger than the one made by the dwarves?"
Su Mo immediately felt his heart itch.
He really wanted to continue.
Unfortunately, Yang Qingxi’s smile remained firmly in his field of vision.
Thus, after a brief internal struggle, he reluctantly restrained himself.
"Not now."
Shen Xing looked disappointed.
Su Mo adopted the expression of a wise master.
"To truly appreciate tea, you cannot drink the entire pot at once."
"You must savor it slowly."
He raised his teacup.
"The same principle applies to stories."
"Each story should be enjoyed little by little."
Shen Xing pouted.
The expression looked surprisingly childish on her usually serious face.
"Fine."
Then she pointed at him.
"But you have to keep your promise."
"I definitely will."
Su Mo immediately patted his chest.
"When the opportunity comes, I’ll tell you the rest."
Only then did Shen Xing look satisfied.
At that moment, Su Mo stretched slightly.
"Anyway, we’ve been traveling for quite a while."
"We’d like to rest."
"Of course."
Shen Xing immediately understood.
"The room on the right has already been prepared for guests."
"You can use it freely."
Then she stood up and began collecting the empty cups and snack plates.
"I won’t disturb you."
"During this time, I’ll have someone prepare dinner."
Seeing her considerate attitude, Su Mo and Yang Qingxi both nodded.
After a few polite exchanges, Shen Xing left the room carrying the tray.
The courtyard gradually became quiet once more.
Only after the door closed did Yang Qingxi turn toward Su Mo.
"...Tennis with trolls?"
Su Mo coughed awkwardly.
"I got carried away."
Yang Qingxi stared at him silently.
Then she shook her head.
For some reason, she wasn’t even surprised anymore.

While Su Mo and Yang Qingxi were settling into White Moon Sect, events elsewhere were moving in a far darker direction.
Under Su Mo’s orders, his newly recruited Demonic Servants had been tracking the remaining members of the Red Cloaks.
During the Meteorite Incident, Number Eleven and Number Twelve had been absent on another mission. As a result, they had escaped the fate that befell the others.
Now, however, that luck had finally run out.
The trail led not to their forest hideout, but to an abandoned mill near a remote mountain village.
Even before arriving, Number Four and Number Five felt something was wrong.
The village was far too silent.
No barking dogs, cooking smoke, or sounds of people talking.
Only the cold wind passed through the empty streets.
More disturbingly, the air carried a faint metallic scent.
Blood.
Number Five’s expression darkened.
"It seems they got here before us."
Number Four nodded grimly.
The village wasn’t destroyed, houses remained standing, and even the doors were intact.
Yet the absence of life made the place even more unsettling. As ex-members of the Red Cloaks, of course, they were familiar with the methods.
The two followed the trail toward the abandoned mill located at the edge of the settlement.
Just then—
"Who’s there?!"
A sharp voice echoed from inside.
Both men smiled.
They had found their targets.
The next moment, two familiar figures emerged from the shadows.
Number Eleven.
Number Twelve.
The moment their eyes met, both sides showed surprise.
"Eight?"
"Ten?"
Eleven’s eyes widened.
"You two are alive?!"
Number Four, formerly Number Eight, immediately sighed heavily.
"Barely."
His exhausted appearance looked completely genuine.
"What happened to everyone else?" Twelve asked.
Number Four lowered his head.
"They were captured."
"Under Number Three’s arrangement, we faked our deaths. Those old fools from White Moon Sect confirmed our deaths and threw us into a valley."
As he spoke, Number Five clenched his fists.
His face filled with anger.
"We almost died."
The performance was flawless.
Unfortunately for Eleven and Twelve, neither possessed the intelligence necessary to question it.
Their initial surprise quickly transformed into calculation.
The atmosphere suddenly shifted.
Without warning, both launched attacks.
Throwing daggers flashed through the air.
Whoosh!
Number Four and Number Five calmly dodged.
Neither seemed surprised.
"Why attack us?" Number Four asked.
Eleven laughed coldly.
"Do you really need to ask?"
The greed in his eyes was undisguised.
"As far as the organisation is concerned, you’re already dead."
"Once the Leader returns, Twelve and I will become Number Three and Number Four."
"We’ll receive more resources, more authority, and more cultivation materials."
His smile widened.
"Why would we allow you two to return and take our positions?"
Number Five rolled his eyes. As expected, Eleven was a loose-mouth. This plan was right.
"Idiot." Twelve immediately glared at his companion. "Keep your loose mouth shut!"
"What about it?" Eleven shrugged. "They’re going to die, anyway."
Then his expression became arrogant.
"You should be asking how we’re going to kill you."
As he spoke, his cultivation erupted.
A powerful aura swept through the abandoned mill.
Level Three Qi Condensation.
Number Four raised an eyebrow.
"Weren’t you just Level One not long ago?"
Eleven laughed proudly.
"The leader obtained a new treasure. It can rapidly increase our cultivation."
