Chapter 218: Ch 218: Awakening Ice & Lightning Attributed Marks

Emrys accepted the mission to activate the Ascension Gate and bring an end to the Great War raging in the Celestial Horizon.

Immediately after accepting the mission, his Eternal Token underwent a slight change, now allowing him to directly teleport to a random location within the Celestial Horizon.

However, this is not something Emrys wishes to do, at least not yet. He plans to return to Arkhaven first and enter the Sage’s Legacy Ground. After that, whether Elysia summons him back to the Infinite Soul Star or not, he’ll use the Eternal Token to enter the Celestial Horizon.

Nonetheless, the question of how to return to the fragmented Cultivation World remained a question. With no other options, Emrys could only ask Idris if there was a way to enter an entirely different universe or Cosmic Field without having to accept a mission that grants the opportunity to enter and exit that world.

Idris told him that there are few methods to traverse between universes or Cosmic Fields without relying on a mission’s specific parameters. He can look for these treasures in the Eternal Shop that can be opened using the Eternal Token.

Then he taught Emrys how to open the shop.

Emrys was not surprised to see similarities between the system in his hand, which he obtained from the Soulforge Prism Orb, and the system of Eternal Paradise.

When he opened the shop, a screen appeared before him that listed an uncountable number of treasures available for the members of Eternal Paradise. Of course, what appeared before him were treasures available only for Second Floor Members. If he wanted to see more valuable treasures, he had to pass at least three trials on the second floor and enter the third floor.

On the screen, there was even a search bar. Emrys directly entered his requirements and dozens of treasures appeared before him.

The first treasure was called "Void Key". It is a rare and powerful treasure capable of creating temporary rifts to a different universe of the Cosmic Field.

The second treasure was called the Dimensional Gate.

There were many treasures but none of them were what he wanted. Every treasure required the coordinates of place, world, universe, or Cosmic Field for him to be able to create or open a channel connecting two points.

Unfortunately, he doesn’t have the coordinates of the fragmented Cosmic Cultivation World.

Emrys sighed helplessly, not knowing what to do.

After bidding farewell to the five people, he returned to the second floor and stopped in front of a massive building. Flashes of multicolored light appeared before converging to a single point, transforming into a multicolored orb. Countless tiny but beautiful divine patterns were carved on its surface that gave this multicolored orb a mysterious yet profound appearance. The instant this orb appeared, a dense Soul Force erupted, filling the entire room.

This multicolored orb was the Soulforge Prism Orb, a treasure gifted to him by Ling Xiaolong.

More than a year ago, when Ling Xiaolong appeared before Emrys, Emrys improved in all-around ways. First of all, he broke the Curse of Eternal Silence under the watchful eyes of Ling Xiaolong. The instant the curse was broken, Emrys felt as if something deep within his soul wanted to break through.

A burst of soul power surged and his soul trembled. It was then his and this body’s predecessor’s soul started to fuse.

While both of their souls were fusing, Emrys was able to glimpse into a blood-red world where a dark soul was trapped.

Ling Xiaolong told Emrys that when he becomes strong enough to enter the Vast Expanse of Eternity, this dark entity’s identity will be revealed.

It was also then Ling Xiaolong told him that the foreign soul that had integrated with his own soul was actually one-ninth of that entity’s soul. Most importantly, he had not completely fused with this one-ninth part. As long as he can fuse, his soul cultivation will improve by leaps and bounds.

Actually, this was a shortcut to the Soul Cultivation Path that Ling Xiaolong had prepared for Emrys. At that moment, two powerful auras suddenly burst forth from his body. These auras were released directly from the depths of his soul. It was then that he awakened two additional soul marks: one with ice attributes and one with lightning attributes.
