Chapter 50 Whose Name to Report
Chapter 50 Whose Name to Report
When she left, she picked up the paper bag that was on the low cabinet by the door and put it on Zeng Hao's desk.
"It's the one you said you wanted to eat last time. I bought it when I was passing by."
After saying that, he put the scarf back on and left.
The door closed very quietly.
Zeng Hao opened the paper bag. Inside was a box of braised food that he had casually mentioned once during a meal. The portion was small, and it was in a transparent plastic box, still slightly warm.
He took a piece, put it in his mouth, and reopened the script.
The 21st match will be moved halfway back.
He added two more words next to that line of annotation: Revise today.
When Fang Qing comes over this afternoon, we'll deal with this one too.
He went to the training room after he had finished eating half of the braised dishes.
Teacher Zhao is guiding five people through a group rehearsal.
Zeng Hao came in just as the second take was ending.
The five people stood at their respective spots marked with white tape, some drinking water, others adjusting their breathing.
Xu Kunkun stood at the far left, holding a water bottle but not drinking from it, looking at the mirror in front of him.
The dark cloth was still hanging on the right half of the mirror, its edges taped shut. He looked at his reflection in the mirror, his expression unreadable, as if he were lost in thought.
Teacher Zhao walked over, his voice low. "Today is the second day. There were two classes in the morning. The first class was nothing special. In the second class, the third time, he was on the fifth beat." He opened the evaluation book and pointed to that line. "Here, the control of the entire arm extension was more stable than yesterday. It wasn't an isolated incident; it was consistent."
Zeng Hao glanced at the line. "Right view."
"He didn't show up even once today," Teacher Zhao said. "He wasn't deliberately hiding it; he just didn't show up. I observed the direction of his gaze; he looked straight ahead the whole time, occasionally glancing down, but never to the right."
Zeng Hao pushed the evaluation book back, "Where's Wang Yuxuan?"
Teacher Zhao turned to another page, "Today's quick rehearsal still had some back movement, but the range was smaller than yesterday. Teacher Lin said that if we can continue to push back during the last three days of the observation period, we might be able to stabilize the quick rehearsal before the assessment."
"When is the assessment?"
"The day after tomorrow," Teacher Zhao said, "I plan to have him increase the intensity of his fast-paced practice for the last two days, adding one more set each day. I won't tell him why; I'll just say it's a routine adjustment."
Zeng Hao nodded. "Okay, do it."
He scanned the training room. Chen Linong walked around in front of the mirror in a corner. After walking around, she paused for two seconds in front of her reflection and started over. Zhou Zhennan stood next to him drinking water, his gaze following Chen Linong's movements without saying a word. Lin You was tidying his shoelaces. Wang Yuxuan sat on the floor with his legs stretched out, doing leg stretches with his back straight.
Five people, each doing their own thing.
Teacher Zhao walked back to the front. "Okay, third time, full speed, get ready."
Zeng Hao left before the third take was finished.
The corridor was quieter than the training room, and his footsteps sounded hollow on the floor. He walked towards the office, and halfway there, his phone vibrated.
It was a message from Xu Wen: The program team's confirmation letter just arrived. I checked it once. Item 7 is repeated twice. The format is limited to on-site recording and does not include original content from personal accounts. This is consistent with what we discussed. Do you want to see the original document?
He replied with two words: Archive.
Put the phone back in his pocket and keep walking.
He didn't think much about the confirmation letter; he was thinking about the order of appearance.
The production manager's statement, "We have an idea," was not empty talk. After the production team's terms were repeatedly broken down in the supplementary agreement, their attitude had changed.
The order of appearance will most likely favor Sunshine Entertainment, making them the dark horse of the first three episodes.
This position wasn't obtained through connections; it was obtained through the reply document that meticulously dissected Articles 7 and 11.
Once you've shown them you're not someone to be trifled with, the rest will be easier to discuss.
He pushed open the office door, and Fang Qing was sitting inside, with her legs propped up on the chair back, a script spread out on her lap, writing something on it.
Seeing him come in, she put her legs down. "I saw your annotation. Move the twenty-first scene half a group back. I came to ask you where it should be moved to."
"Before the first line of the next shot," Zeng Hao walked around to the other side of the table and sat down, "list out the sequence of shots for that scene, and I'll show you."
Fang Qing turned to scene twenty-one of the script, stood up, walked around to him, and laid the script flat on the table. "Here," she pointed to a spot with the tip of her pen, "this is the line you said, currently at the end of the third shot. Do you want to move it to the beginning of the fourth shot?"
"Yes," Zeng Hao said, "what's at the end of the third shot now?"
"It was the action of her walking out."
"That's right," Zeng Hao said. "Her walking out is the real emotional climax of this scene. If that line were placed before that climax, the reader wouldn't be there yet. But if it were placed at the beginning of the fourth shot, the reader would be just right to follow along, and that line would have weight."
Fang Qing stared at that spot for a few seconds, then drew a vertical line at the end of the third shot, circling the line of dialogue. She then dragged an arrow down to the beginning of the fourth shot. "That's it?"
"That's it," Zeng Hao said. "After you go back and finish revising, read the whole thing aloud. When you get to the part where she walks out, pause for three seconds and get a feel for it. You'll get it then."
Fang Qing closed the script, tucked it away, walked to the door, turned around, and asked, "President Zeng, now that scene twenty-one is finished, how many scenes in the script still have problems?"
"So far, we've only found these two matches," Zeng Hao said. "But you should read through the whole thing again. I haven't looked at the rhythm of matches 28 to 35 in detail yet, so you should check it yourself first."
Fang Qing hummed in agreement and left.
My phone vibrated again. It was a message from Teacher Zhao. There was no text, only a photo of an evaluation book. It was the record page after the last class this afternoon. In Xu Kunkun's line, Teacher Zhao had added three extra words in red pen in today's parentheses.
It's not "it's out".
It's three other characters.
"Can be used independently".
Teacher Zhao doesn't write things carelessly; his wording in the evaluation book is always the most conservative.
"It has come out" means discovery, "can be independent" means judgment.
The judgment implies that he believes Xu Kunkun's perception no longer needs to be triggered by external conditions and can be maintained on its own under normal training conditions.
This was almost two weeks earlier than Zeng Hao had expected.
The next day.
When Xu Wen pushed the door open and came in, he hadn't taken off his coat yet, so it was obvious that he had just come back from outside. He was carrying a convenience store bag in his hand. He walked to the opposite side, sat down, and put the bag next to the chair.
"Mr. Zeng, I just finished a call with NetEase Cloud Music."
"It's been forwarded?"
"It's been transferred," Xu Wen said, his tone conveying a sense of trying to remain calm but not quite managing to.
"The customer service representative said that copyright cooperation requires submitting qualification materials through the official website application channel, and the review period is three to five business days. I said that we have an urgent cooperation need, and she said that even if it is urgent, we still have to go through the process. I asked if I could contact the copyright procurement department directly, and she said that they do not provide a direct contact method to the public."
Zeng Hao closed the memo. "Did you give me the name 'Ugly Monster' or Xue Zhijian?"
