Chapter 640 - 611: Why Is My Wife So Awesome!

The final negotiation session concluded, and the team members decided to celebrate properly in the evening. Sienna Thornton, needing to pack for her return home the next day and being careful with her diet during breastfeeding, joined everyone briefly, had a bit of dinner, and then returned to the hotel. The luggage for her five days in Valois wasn’t much, and it only took a little tidying up. However, while packing, she kept thinking about Charles Quincy.

Seeing it was still early, she took out her laptop, logged into the villa’s security management system, and reviewed the footage recorded by the home cameras some time ago.

Initially, she had suggested installing pinhole cameras at home to prevent Charles Quincy from being negligent or secretly harming the child. But over the past month, she discovered through the videos that Charles truly cared for the child, behaved properly at home, and never did anything untoward.

She hadn’t expected Charles to manufacture occasions to meet Simon Forrester multiple times during her business trips. If it weren’t for Auntie King’s sharp eyes, Charles’s behavior would indeed be difficult to detect.

Sienna Thornton watched two to three hours of surveillance playback, not noticing anything unusual, but she ended up with bleary eyes. Before sleeping, she pondered about solutions to this issue, and while thinking, she fell asleep.

She dreamt that Charles and Jane Jefferson increasingly resembled each other...

"Whoa!" Sienna awoke in a cold sweat, her chest heaving and breathing labored, feeling fatigued.

In the quiet room, the woman’s rapid breathing was particularly noticeable.

Sienna calmed herself, went to the bar to pour a glass of warm water, sat on the high stool at the bar, lost in thought for a moment, then suddenly snapped to attention and rushed back to bed to find her phone.

It was 2:30 AM Valois time, 9:30 AM back home.

Without hesitation, she called Simon Forrester.

At that moment, Simon Forrester, far away at home, was hiking with their child and Quentin Thorne’s family, collecting hot spring water.

Receiving Sienna’s call, his quick reflexes deduced it was past midnight on her side, thinking something was wrong, he immediately answered.

"Candy? Still not asleep so late?" He stepped aside to take the call, carrying their child on his back.

"Honey, have Gavin Gale find a new babysitter."

Simon Forrester relaxed and chuckled, "Why the sudden need to change the babysitter?"

"Don’t ask so many questions," Sienna Thornton snapped, losing patience, "I have my reasons, I’ll explain when I get back. Just have Gavin Gale find someone quickly."

"Alright."

After exchanging a few more words, Simon urged Sienna to hurry up and get some sleep.

Hanging up, he turned to his son on his back and said, "Your mom wants to change your teacher; this time, how about getting an older brother?"

The child gurgled and waved his little arms as if to say: "Yay, yay!"

On the Valois side, Sienna Thornton hung up the phone, smiled wryly, and shook her head.

Initially, she was torn about whether dismissing the babysitter over concerns she might like Simon Forrester was an overreaction. After all, the babysitter might not end up liking Simon Forrester, although her professionalism and ability to teach the child well were certain.

But the nightmare that night awakened her to the fact that there are countless excellent babysitters beyond the current one, it’s not worth bringing potential trouble to her family, resulting in more loss than gain.

Understanding all this, Sienna Thornton slept soundly after midnight.

...

Time zones are a fascinating thing. Sienna departed Valois at ten in the morning, with the sun shining brightly overhead, and after a twelve-hour flight, reached Brimfield airport where it was already dimly lit morning.

Getting off the plane, before boarding the shuttle bus, she looked up at the Brimfield sky.

Thick clouds pressed against the blue sky, morning light desperately found small gaps to pour through. Deep within the morning light was the pinnacle of brightness.

Sienna Thornton closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and exhaled a thin mist.

"How can a living person be suffocated by matters?" She laughed to herself, tightened her backpack, and got on the shuttle bus.

She pulled her suitcase toward the exit.

It was only six in the morning, and the airport was already bustling with people. This is a city that encourages progress, where all middle-aged and young people work diligently like they’re wound up, striving for advancement.

Sienna Thornton was one of them.

Pulling her suitcase out, before passing through the gate, she saw Simon Forrester standing there from afar.

He wore a khaki wool coat, paired with a white sweater and jeans, hands in his coat pockets, attentively watching the exit area.

The moment their eyes met, Sienna smiled at him and darted toward him with her suitcase. Upon passing through the gate, she released her hand from the suitcase and embraced him.

He almost immediately extended his arms to support her backside, while she tightly wrapped her legs around his waist and arms around his neck, burying her face in the nook of his neck.

She habitually sniffed his hair, then his neck.

He laughed, "What are you sniffing, little puppy?"

She suddenly laughed and slapped his shoulder, "Did you sneak and use my shampoo again?! I’ve told you, that bottle is the expensive anti-hair loss kind. You have so much hair; why would you use it?!"

"Planning ahead, you know. Do you want to parade your bald husband around to meet young ladies?"

Sienna scoffed, rolling her eyes in derision, "They say when a man starts working out and paying attention to his appearance, there might be something going on outside."

"Come on, show me. How could someone like me, who is constantly either working or taking care of kids at home, have anything going on?"

Sienna laughed heartily, cupping his face, touching nose to nose, mouth to mouth, and planting a kiss, unconcerned about the surrounding busy travelers.

The two left the airport cheerfully.

Once in the car, Sienna asked, "How has my son been these days?"

Simon Forrester started the car, keeping an eye on the road conditions, and said with a smile, "Don’t worry! He’s plump and healthy."

"That’s good," Sienna fastened her seatbelt, "What about my parents?"

"They’re doing well."

The car hit the airport highway, cruising smoothly on the straight road. The Lamborghini SUV sped swiftly on the highway.

Sienna recounted her experiences in Valois, and upon hearing the outcome would likely be good, Simon was pleased and proud, praising, "My wife is amazing! Given this trajectory, will you be a director in two years? Then vice-minister, minister?"

Sienna laughed, feeling at ease with her husband, "According to the department’s tradition, as long as I don’t make mistakes in the coming years and maintain my current performance, reaching director should be attainable. But vice-minister and minister, that’s uncertain, especially since Dad seems to have other plans."

"What plans does Thornton have?" Simon Forrester was surprised for a second, then disdained, "He really likes to meddle. Do you know what ’good deeds’ he has accomplished while you were away?"
