Chapter 627 - 598: The Third Watch
After the full month banquet, to satisfy Old Master Forrester’s superstitious beliefs, Simon Forrester and his family of three returned to the old mansion for a night, before heading back to Fenmore Hill the next day.Back at the old mansion, after coaxing the child to sleep, Sienna Thornton instructed Simon Forrester to watch the child while she went for a bath. When she finished, she found only the baby sleeping in the crib, with no sign of Simon Forrester.
She opened the door to take a look, and the inner hall light was on. From her angle, she could see Simon Forrester sitting on the sofa, looking serious, occasionally bowing his head in thought and occasionally chatting with someone.
She figured Zane Forrester must have returned and there was some business to attend to.
She went back to accompany the child.
Just as she was about to fall asleep from tiredness, Simon Forrester returned to the room.
She was startled awake, alert, and quickly asked, "Were you just discussing matters in the hall with your dad?"
Simon Forrester stood in front of the wardrobe, undressing.
Today he dressed casually, wearing khaki pants and a classic deep blue Ralph Lauren custom-made polo shirt.
As the polo shirt came off, it revealed the man’s smooth, tight skin with a soft sheen.
"My mom is urging me to quickly complete the procedures for transferring the shares to the United States," Simon said, removing his pants and taking out pajamas from the wardrobe, "but my dad suspects that as long as the procedures aren’t completed, my mom won’t file for divorce, so he hopes I will wait a bit longer."
"Haven’t they been separated?" In Sienna Thornton’s understanding, once separated, especially when one party holds evidence of the other’s marital betrayal, the marriage is essentially over.
Simon Forrester understood her meaning and explained heavily, "He’s probably hoping for a little more time to earn my mom’s forgiveness."
"Alright then." Sienna didn’t ask further about Zane Forrester and his wife’s issues; she wasn’t particularly inclined to delve deeper into it now.
She lay back down beside the child, resting her head on her hand, watching the child sleep soundly, feeling a surge of warmth.
Simon Forrester also came over for a quick look at the child before heading to the bathroom to shower.

The next day, after having lunch at the old mansion, Simon Forrester and his family of three first returned to Fenmore Hill to fetch some items, then immediately headed to The Springs Residences.
Simon Forrester had barely been to work for a month; this time he really needed to return to the group to oversee operations, so he discussed with Melinda Linton the decision to have his wife and child cared for there during the day, then he would pick them up in the evening after work.
Initially, this was indeed the case, but on a few occasions when Simon Forrester came over to pick them up after work, the child was either asleep or being fed and couldn’t leave immediately. By the time they could, it was already dark.
Generally, people dislike taking infants under one-year-old out at night, so after encountering this situation a few times, they simply stopped going back to Fenmore Hill at night and instead stayed overnight at Sienna’s parental home, until eventually, the family of three practically settled at her parents’ place.
Fortunately, Melinda Linton and Auntie King both had ample experience in caring for postpartum mothers and infants, so with them offering a helping hand, Sienna Thornton had a pretty relaxed time, needing only to feed and soothe the baby to sleep, without having to do anything else.
Although Simon Forrester and Quentin Thorne didn’t usually see eye to eye, as time passed day by day, the two would play several rounds of chess every night, occasionally have a little drink, and their relationship warmed significantly.
Days passed joyfully and simply like this, and in a blink, Brimfield was in deep autumn, and it was time for Sienna Thornton to return to work.
They definitely couldn’t count on The Forrester Family to help with the childcare, as both Sienna Thornton and Simon Forrester needed to work, so the child could only be entrusted to her family for care.
Considering Melinda Linton’s poor health and that Auntie King was busy with housework and not a professional nanny, the family discussed and decided to hire a professional infant caregiver to help with childcare.
