Chapter 1048: Don’t Consider Me
Chapter 1048: Don’t Consider Me
"It’s all good, we’ve talked it over." Emma Wells said with a smile.Old Mrs. Wells was not the type to dig too deep. Her daughter was grown enough to handle things herself.
As long as her daughter wasn’t bullied, Old Mrs. Wells didn’t want to interfere too much; asking too many questions might make her daughter uncomfortable.
"Lucy is really more mature than I am." Sophie Wilson half leaned against Charles Seymour, whispering in his ear, "If I suddenly had a biological dad pop up, I’d be freaking out."
Mason Wilson overheard a bit at the table and coughed dryly; his sudden appearance as a biological dad was quite similar.
At that time, he didn’t see Sophie freaking out either.
"Different personalities." Charles Seymour offered a peeled shrimp to Sophie Wilson’s lips, "I just like the lively ones."
In other words, he favored the Sophie type.
Sophie Wilson chuckled lightly, opening her mouth and swallowing the plump shrimp in one go. Her mischievous tongue playfully brushed against someone’s finger pad as she cheerfully praised, "Delicious."
Her eyes sparkled with meaningful passion, looking at him intently, igniting Charles Seymour’s heart with a sudden burst, making him feel like he was roasting on a furnace.
"Mmm." Charles Seymour responded, seemingly unaffected, continuing to peel shrimp with smooth movements, betraying no emotion except for his slightly reddened earlobes.
Sophie Wilson chuckled foolishly at how adorable Mr. Seymour looked; she felt an urge to pinch him.
She followed through and pinched Charles Seymour’s cheek.
Charles Seymour turned his head, looking at Sophie Wilson in confusion.
Sophie Wilson tilted her head and smiled at him, replacing confusion in Charles Seymour’s eyes with gentle affection. They exchanged smiles as Charles Seymour resumed peeling shrimp.
Their interactions were fully witnessed by Clarissa, who smiled contently.
These two have a really nice relationship.
Charles Seymour’s cold demeanor towards outsiders turned into gentle affection when it came to Sophie.
Later, after the engagement party was over and the Bright Clan and Wells Clan had seen off their guests, Kai Bright took up his role as driver, sending Lucy Wells’ family home.
Once safely delivered, Lucy Wells saw him to the door, where Kai Bright pulled her into his arms and whispered by her ear, "Whatever decision you make, I’ll support you completely. Don’t worry about me."
Lucy Wells froze momentarily, her eyes soon filled with tender emotion, "Okay."
"I’ll head back now." Kai Bright knew the situation with her uncle required her family’s time to process, so he chose not to intrude.
Even as a fiancé, it wasn’t his place to get involved.
"Kai." Lucy Wells suddenly called out to Kai Bright.
"Hmm?" Kai Bright turned around, only to have his lips softly pressed, though it only lasted a mere two seconds before Lucy Wells stepped back.
But for Kai Bright, it was enough!
"Drive safely." Lucy Wells blushingly advised, concerned.
"Okay." Kai Bright nodded quickly like a bobblehead, amusing Lucy Wells greatly.
"You should head inside." Kai Bright gently nudged Lucy Wells indoors, feeling assured to leave afterward.
Returning inside, Lucy Wells was summoned by Emma Wells, "Lucy, let me tell you about what happened back then."
Lucy had the right to know.
